I still have one of the old Orion setups somewhere but they use an old plug style so I am unable to replicate the wiring. Dispatch currently uses the Plantronics SHS1890-310 6-wire amplifier with PTT.

Jun 30, 2024 · I don't know why FRES isn't multi-casting UHF Page E and W onto the 7/800mhz system. There are talk groups in the radios. I've never heard activity on them. There's also a MED Dispatch talk-group which I've never heard activity on, and I'm assuming it would multi-cast EMS Paging 155.280 To monitor FRES Paging: FD Paging WEST 462.9875 PL 94.8

Feb 2, 2025 · Best way is watch ABS-B or use one of the online maps. Also listen to Moline Tower 119.4 or North control 125.950 for comms. if they are headed to the local hospitals (Genesis or Unity Point) try the security channels.

Unfortunately, most scanning receivers are susceptible to "simulcast" interference created by the system transmitting the same data on the same RF frequencies from multiple sites.

Jan 11, 2025 · Hi. Just an FYI, if you're looking for the original dispatch, it can be found in the LAFD CH4/CH7 dispatch archive rather than the main LAFD feed. I heard it perfectly there. BTW, they were really quick to respond and called for 20 additional companies and air support in a couple minutes. It's the one on Jan 7th at 10:30AM.

Apr 15, 2021 · I’m using a Kenwood NX-1200 AVK that I programmed to use on duty with the ambulance service I work for. I’m available to receive transmissions from dispatch and I can hear myself on the radios of other units when I transmit, but it seems that dispatch can’t hear me as I get no response when I hail them.

Oct 4, 2024 · Hope this helps you understand why encryption is in use. In my town the PD does not encrypt. Instead they use MDT’s (Mobile Data Terminals). And while there is a multitude of information transmitted over the MDT’s, the routine traffic is still in the clear on their dispatch frequencies, stuff such as motor vehicle accidents, road closures, etc.
