It then slowed to a crawl and then a halt over perhaps 5 feet of track. Picked it up and flipped it over to find it abnormally hot for the time it had run.

01-10-2011, 04:54 PM. I see that the power supply is rated at 22 volts with a 1 amp load. Most HO power supplies that come with sets put out a much lower voltage under load than what is marked on the nameplate. It would take four regular Tomy AFX cars to put a 1 amp load on the power supply once they were rolling.

I would do modern GT cars (Corvette C8.R, Porsche 911 RSR, etc.) and modern Tran Am race cars (Camaro, Challenger and Mustang). Also, put AFX Mega-G+ GT40 slot cars in the 4 lane Super International race set.
