A suspect who tried to rob a taco stand at gunpoint in south Sacramento but was taken down by employees was also booked into jail in connection with a robbery at Chando's Tacos last year, police said.

A man arrested by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office after an attempted robbery at a taco stand has been accused of similar crimes at three separate eateries across the capital region, including at Chando’s Tacos in North Sacramento, police said.

A Sacramento man suspected of pistol-whipping a taco stand worker several months ago was arrested last week after workers fought back during another armed robbery, police said.

Employees of a taco stand were able to fight back and hold down a man who deputies said tried to rob them at gunpoint on Friday night in south Sacramento.

Employees of the taco stand wrestled the man to the ground and knocked the gun loose. They held him down until Sacramento Police officers and Sacramento County deputies arrived to take McGrath into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

Sacramento Police Department has arrested a 21-year-old male suspect in connection with three armed robberies at local taco stands, after an investigation by Robbery Detectives and a joint effort with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
