San Bernardino, earthquake and Richter magnitude scale

Southern California experienced its fifth earthquake this week, this time on Valentine’s Day near the coastal city of Malibu.
The strongest was a 3.4 magnitude quake that struck near San Bernardino, with more than 500 people feeling the quake.
A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Malibu area late Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck around 11:44 p.m. and was felt in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
