Maryland schools closed Tuesday as wintry weather impacts roadways
BALTIMORE -- Maryland schools are closing on Tuesday, January 7, as wintry weather continues to impact roadways. A winter storm warning continues into Tuesday morning after several inches of snow was dumped throughout the state on Monday. Some areas received at least 6 inches of snow.

Here’s what you need to know about snowfall totals, closures, plowing, schools and more. Western and Southern Maryland had the highest amount of snowfall, particularly in Calvert and Garrett counties, according to the National Weather Service. In western Maryland, Garrett County got 14.8 inches of snow, the most of any county.
