Seton Hall could not keep its momentum rolling on the road. After earning their first Big East win of the season Wednesday, the Pirates suffered a 91-85 loss to Providence at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Saturday.

Pierre Brooks II scored 19 and Andre Screen added 16 to lead Butler to an 82-77 win over Seton Hall, putting the Bulldogs nine-game skid to an end.

St. John’s blew past Seton Hall early with a huge first half and then rolled to a 79-51 Big East victory at Prudential Center. The Storm’s win was its fifth in a row and 11th in 12 games. More important: their victory combined with Xavier’s win at No. 7 Marquette, puts St. John’s (16-3, 7-1) alone in first place in the Big East.

RJ Luis Jr. tallied 24 points and eight rebounds, Zuby Ejiofor had 15 points and nine boards and visiting St. John's ran roughshod over Seton Hall 79-51 on Saturday night in Newark, N.J.
