Despite his $40.3 million contract expiring at the 2024-25 NBA season's end, the Brooklyn Nets will reportedly not consider reaching a buyout agreement with two-time All-Star Ben Simmons, per Brett Siegel.

The Nets were playing well at the start of this season, too well. For a team that had shipped away Mikal Bridges in the summer, receiving a haul of first-round picks in the process, the expectation was that Brooklyn would be cellar dwellers for most of the 2024-25 season.

The owner of the single worst contract in the NBA right now may be poised to play out that contract in its entirety.

However, the trade market isn't the only place to watch for Nets players. Point guard Ben Simmons is a player to watch on the buyout market, per Evan Sidery of Forbes. Simmons has taken over the starting job at the one after Dennis Schroder was traded to the Golden State Warriors.
