Weeks leading up to the trade, Fox appeared on Draymond Green‘s podcast, signaling his desire to remain in Sacramento provided the organization was willing to give everything they had to win.

De'Aaron Fox is one of the best point guards in the middle of his prime (at 27). He was recently traded to the San Antonio Spurs after spending his first seven and a half seasons playing for the Sacramento Kings.

The Spurs have their point guard of the future in De'Aaron Fox, which means they're suddenly looking for something very different in the 2025 NBA Draft.

“Momentum picked up on a four-team De’Aaron Fox trade Friday but then cooled off,” reported NBA insider Matt Moore on his Substack. “As of now, Stephon Castle is not thought to be in the deal, according to a league source.”
