The Houston Astros will make an early-season appearance on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball, the network announced Wednesday in unveiling its initial matchups for 2025. ESPN will broadcast Houston’s April 20 game against the San Diego Padres at newly renamed Daikin Park.

ESPN, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, announced its 2025 early-season Sunday Night Baseball schedule on Wednesday. The 36th season of ESPN’s exclusive Major League Baseball game of the week begins on March 30 when the San Diego Padres and Fernando Tatís Jr.

The Red Sox will host the St. Louis Cardinals on April 6 at 7 p.m. in their first Sunday home game of the 2025 season. It’s the second game in ESPN’s slate of Sunday Night Baseball, with the Atlanta Braves taking on the San Diego Padres on March 30 on opening weekend.

As usual around this time of year, we start to get a look at which games for the upcoming baseball season are going to be nationally televised. With the Atlanta Braves having been a Postseason mainstay for the better part of a decade now,

Shohei Ohtani and the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers will be featured on four of ESPN’s first 10 “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcasts along with a March 27 appearance on the sport’s main opening day.

ESPN announced its Sunday Night Baseball broadcast schedule through June 1, and also a couple of games beyond that, as well as the Little League Classic in August (Mariners vs. Mets). The Cubs will be on SNB twice in April.
