Boston Bruins forward Charlie Coyle sent interim coach Joe Sacco a strong message about one of the youngest promises on the roster, who plays alongside him and Brad Marchand.

Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo will both be back on the Bruins blue line leaving Hampus Lindholm as the only defenseman missing. Mark Kastelic remains out of the lineup, but there was good news on him as well as he was back at morning skate on Thursday.

The Boston Bruins got back on track Monday afternoon at TD Garden, scoring four goals in the third period to secure a 6-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Yet, now that Lindholm is being put back up to Boston's top six, he has a golden chance to show the Bruins that he is deserving of a prominent role. If he makes a positive impression against the Jets, it will help his case to stay on a line with Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle.

The Jets (35-14-3) enter Thursday night’s matchup as the league’s top team with 73 points (tied with the Washington Capitals), six points clear of Edmonton and Vegas for the top spot in the Western Conference. They have won four straight, including a 4-1 win over Montreal on Tuesday night, which kicked off a three-game Eastern road trip.

After an ugly 7-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 28, the Boston Bruins made some notable changes to their lines at Jan. 30's morning skate. On offense, Elias Lindholm was moved back up to the second-line center spot, with Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle as his wingers. With this, Matthew Poitras was dropped to the third-line center spot.
