The IRS estimates $2.4 billion in unclaimed stimulus checks will be sent to taxpayers by the end of January. Here's how to see if you're eligible for a payment.

A total of about $2.4 billion will be sent out automatically to taxpayers who did not claim the recovery rebate credit on their 2021 tax returns. The maximum payment to any one individual will be $1,400, though payments will vary “depending on several factors,” the IRS said.

Approximately 1 million taxpayers will automatically receive special stimulus payments of up to $1,400 from the IRS via direct deposit or check by late January 2025.
