Tom Holland revealed on the “Rich Roll” podcast that he was one of the select few people who knew about Robert Downey Jr.’s bombshell Comic-Con reveal, in which it was announced that the former Iron Man/Tony Stark actor would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villainous Doctor Doom.

Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Tom Holland has finally expressed his thoughts on Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the MCU as the antagonist Doctor Victor Von Doom. The Iron Man star’s Marvel comeback was announced at the SDCC in July 2024.

While speaking in an interview on the "Rich Roll Podcast," Holland discussed his deeper involvement in the development of the latest "Spider-Man" entry and the importance of "fan service."

Holland said “one of the challenges” is making sure the solo Spider-Man adventure fits “into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture” of Marvel, but he expressed excitement about being let into the creative process of the MCU.

Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man talked about that on the “Rich Roll Podcast.” The actor shared that he and his real-life girlfriend, Zendaya, who plays Parker’s love interest Michelle “MJ” Jones in the franchise, have read the draft script for “Spider-Man 4.”
