Excitement for Nvidia's RTX 5080 GPUs is real, as its pricing compared to its RTX 5090 counterpart ($1,999) means it's likely to be a popular option for many PC gamers after high-end gaming without spending a small fortune. In fact, our own Tony Polanco is now considering building a gaming PC with an RTX 5080.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang revealed the RTX 50-series GPUs during a CES keynote this evening, announcing a $1,999 RTX 5090, a $999 RTX 5080, a $749 RTX 5070 Ti, and a $549 RTX 5070. Nvidia’s new RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs will both be available on January 30th, with the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 to follow in February.

The four GPUs in the lineup include the RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and the RTX 5090. They start off at just $549 and go up to $1999. For now, there is no information on the cheaper RTX 5060 models, but they can be expected to be somewhere in the $350 to $400 range.

At CES on Monday night, Nvidia unveiled its long-awaited next generation of GeForce RTX graphics cards based on its latest Blackwell microarchitecture, and the race will soon begin by AI outfits training large language models and PC gamers alike to gobble up these new cards as soon as they are released.

Nvidia says the RTX 5090 is “2X Faster Than The GeForce RTX 4090;” the RTX 5080 is “Twice As Fast As The GeForce RTX 4080;” the RTX 5070 is “2X Faster Than The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti;” and the RTX 5070 is as fast as the RTX 4090.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 was only fully revealed this week at CES 2025, but already the GPU is causing quite a stir. Though arguably the least powerful of the just unveiled 50-series, the RTX 5070 has been the subject of a number of headline-worthy claims.

With CES coming to a close, there was a lot of new tech devices announced and that includes the 2025 lineup of ROG gaming laptops from ASUS, powered by the RTX 50-series GPUs that NVIDIA announced this week as well.
