It's a First Alert Weather Day as moderate to heavy snow pours over the Front Range. Hardest hit will be the foothills west of Denver with over a foot of snow expected.

Snow is expected to stop by 8 a.m. and temps will climb to 39 before falling to 19 overnight, according to the National Weather Service. A high of 52 and sunny skies are forecast Saturday, followed by temps near 60 on Sunday.

Families took advantage of Thursday night's heavy snowfall to carry on family traditions of sledding, building snowmen, throwing snowballs, and playing music in Jefferson County on Friday.
