Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel co-led a coalition of 22 states seeking to block the Trump administration's proposed cuts to medical research grants.

U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley said the president’s proposed changes present an “immediate, devastating and irreparable” risk of harm.

A federal court has ordered a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from cutting medical and public health research funding. The Michigan Department of Attorney General reports that this injunction challenges the Administration’s attempt to “slash ‘indirect cost’ reimbursements at every research institution through the country.
