Thousands of Amazon workers have ended their days-long strike against the company, according to the Teamsters union. But tensions persist, with the union saying its efforts aren't over.

Amazon workers have walked off the job at seven facilities throughout the U.S., including the company's Queens location in New York City, as they push for contract talks with their union.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters says workers at seven Amazon facilities went on strike Thursday morning in an effort by the union to pressure the e-commerce giant for a labor agreement during a key shopping period.

Amazon workers in several cities nationwide have walked off the job, initiating what the Teamsters labor union calls the “largest strike” against the online retail titan less than a week before Christmas.

Amazon workers at four California facilities will join their striking colleagues on the picket line Thursday morning after reaching a stalemate during labor negotiations.

Teamsters requested an investigation of the flood from Amazon's warehouse that swamped a picket line in Queens; they also filed for a restraining order against the NYPD.

The Teamsters say the workers, who authorized strikes in the past few days, are joining the picket line after Amazon ignored a Dec. 15 deadline the union set for contract negotiations.
