Altay Bayindir was the hero for 10-man Manchester United as he saved penalties in normal time and in the shootout to send his side into the FA Cup fourth round.

Defending champion Manchester United advanced from the third round by beating Arsenal 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

Arsenal's Kai Havertz was the only one of the first four penalty takers to miss, before Zirkzee – booed off in a defeat by Newcastle United last month – stepped up to win the shootout 5-3.

With the memories of Newcastle United, where Zirkzee was jeered off the pitch by some of his supporters after being substituted in the 33rd minute, still surely fresh in his mind, it was a brave decision by Amorim to award the final penalty to the 23-year-old.
