As the Education Freedom Act of 2025 awaits Governor Lee’s signature, his office said his team has met with a number of experienced people to learn how other states have implemented universal school choice programs successfully.

Democrats in Arizona want to make big changes to the state’s school voucher program that fell victim to two costly fraud schemes in recent years — but the Republicans who control the Legislature are eyeing more modest moves they say will prevent fraudsters from raiding the program in the future.

"I've long believed we can have the best public schools and give parents a choice in their child's education, regardless of income or ZIP code," said Bill Lee.
