Starting November 1, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) introduces new train booking rules, including a reduced advance reservation period of 120 days and updated Tatkal booking procedures.

Shares of the (IRCTC) plummeted after the Indian Railways decided to cut the advance reservation period for bookings. The new policy, which will come into effect from November 1, will reduce this period from 120 days to merely 60 days.

All bookings done up to October 31 under the ARP (Advance Reservation Period) of 120 days will remain intact, it added.

Reservations made before November 1 will remain unaffected by the new guidelines for purchasing rail tickets in advance. All reservations made through October 31 will stand as is.
