The attack of a Hanukkah menorah that had paint thrown over it and some of its branches ripped down is being treated as a hate crime.

A menorah was found vandalized in Uptown Gig Harbor at the start of Hanukkah, sparking an investigation of the incident as a malicious mischief offense and potential hate crime, according to police.

Light bulbs were broken and electrical wiring damaged on the display outside a shopping mall, police said. They are investigating it as a possible hate crime.
