The Wichita State men’s basketball team broke a three-game losing streak and won its first American Athletic Conference game of the season with a 68-59 victory against Charlotte.

Wichita State ended its suffering, snapping a 3-game losing streak to emerge with a 68-59 home win over last-place Charlotte and escape the cellar of the AAC standings. The Shockers (11-6) improved to 1-3 in conference play, while Charlotte (7-11) dropped to 0-5 against AAC competition.

The Shockers held Charlotte to 32.8 percent shooting and 6-of-27 from three-point range. Corey Washington led all scorers with 16 points and seven rebounds. Harlond Beverly recorded his 1,000th career point in the game,
