President Donald Trump has fired back at a church bishop who challenged him from the pulpit during a prayer service in at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

Episcopal bishop Right Rev. Mariann Budde preached a message of unity and urged President Donald Trump to show “mercy” during a Jan. 21, interfaith prayer service.

He began by dismissing four people: retired Gen. Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; celebrity chef José Andrés from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition; Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars; and Keisha Lance Bottoms, former mayor of Atlanta, from the President’s Export Council.

President Trump said early Tuesday his staffers are "actively in the process of identifying and removing" over a 1,000 presidential appointees from the Biden administration, including retired U.S. Army Gen.

In addition to a slew of first-day executive orders, the newly inaugurated President Trump announced in a Truth Social post that he’s officially dismissed the chef José Andrés from his role in the previous administration.
