A Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy fatally shot a man early Thursday after he began fighting with officers at a gas station, officials said.  Deputies responded around 3 a.m. to reports of a man "acting erratically" and damaging a gas pump near the 10300 block of North Freeway,

The man was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. One of the deputies was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Judge Hilary Unger set bond at $3 million for Ronnie Palmer, who is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault in the death of Harris County Deputy Fernando Esqueda.
