Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia says things on his bike the were good on Friday at the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix ‘got worse’ as he struggled to fourth in the sprint. Bagnaia was only a shade slower than championship leader Jorge Martin after Friday’s practice, but struggled for pace throughout Saturday and could only qualify fifth on the grid.

Championship leader Jorge Martin said Thursday a mistake-free weekend at the Australian MotoGP was his priority as he looks to fend off rival Francesco Bagnaia.

Jorge Martin converted a dominant pole position into a crushing victory in the Australian Grand Prix sprint race on Saturday. The world championship leader easily defeated Marc Marquez (Gresini Ducati) and Enea Bastianini (factory Ducati) after leading from lights to flag at Phillip Island.
