Pixxel, an Indian space tech startup backed by Google, has successfully launched the first three hyperspectral satellites of its commercial constellation Firefly.

Bengaluru-based spacetech startups Pixxel and Digantara have launched their satellites aboard Transporter-12 rideshare mission with SpaceX from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The launch marks the start of Pixxel's commercial constellation, with three more Firefly satellites slated for launch in Q2 2025.

Digantara and Pixxel are focused on launching their proprietary satellites, while XDLINX is facilitating the launch of India-developed satellites for the US-based Almagest Space Corporation.

The Firefly constellation satellites were integrated via Exolaunch and launched aboard the Transporter-12 rideshare mission with SpaceX. The launch took place around 1 am
