Battery maker Duracell's longstanding research-and-development hub in Bethel will be replaced by a new R&D hub in Atlanta.

Duracell, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, has announced plans to establish its new Global Headquarters for Research and Development at Science Square in Atlanta.

Duracell, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, will relocate its research and development headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia. The new R&D facility, scheduled to open in Summer 2026, will be housed in the new state-of-the-art Science Square Labs building.

Duracell officials said the move will bring more than 100 jobs to Atlanta, but didn't say whether that included workers coming from Bethel.
