A now former Georgetown County Detention Center officer is behind bars following a sex act with an inmate, Sheriff Carter Weaver said on Saturday night. Peter Sawyer is charged with sexual misconduct in office following a probe by the criminal investigative division and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
