The vast amount of the facility is outdoors. It’s spread over 450 acres if I remember correctly. Some of the paths have a fairly steep grade and the areas are separated by a good distance. However, on our tour we were driven between the exhibits in an 8 passenger RTV. If you had a folding wheelchair you could put it in the back of the RTV and still have room for 5 passengers and your guide/driver. If you contacted them at the sanctuary (812-438-2306) I am sure that they have run into this sort of situation before and could accommodate you. If you have the opportunity to go you will not be disappointed. It is a wonderful place and my family and I will remember our time there forever.
