It depends on the age of the party - young children, teens?? and what the level of interest is for history. At times there are also special exhibits which could add time to your visit. You should check with the National Park Service for any special exhibits. If you watch the movie and walk through all the buildings, I would say 1 - 2 hours depending on level of interest.
Greetings, My ancestors worked at the Hopewell Furnace during the 1800's (and at Warwick Furnace in the 1700's). Decades ago, I saw one of my relative's names in the pay records on display at Hopewell. Could you tell me, is there digital access to Hopewell Furnace's (and other forge) archives? I'm in DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and am researching furnaces and forges of the era for an historic presentation. Thank you for any leads. Christine Williams

Yes, we take our two dogs there for walks through the historic areas and into French creek park. Leash laws are in place and dog waste canisters are located near the visitor center. Our dogs love to visit and we do too. excerpt taken from website: Pets are allowed in outdoor areas of the park so long as they are on leash. Only service animals or service animals in training are allowed inside park buildings.
